Contest open to U.S. residents only.

Contestants will compete to see who can play the greatest version of the legendary “Smoke On The Water.” There will be three categories that contestants can enter: Vocal, Lead Guitar and Band version. In the vocal category, contestants will vie to see who can deliver the most definitive or interesting interpretation of the song. In the lead guitar category, contestants will battle to see who can play the most outstanding guitar solo. In the band version, contestants will brawl to see who can do anything from the most faithful remake of the entire song to the most outrageous version known to man!!!

Contestants will upload their submissions to gillansinn.com and choose which category and in which week of the competition they want to participate. Contestants can upload as many submissions as they want and can enter their submission in every week of the competition (weeks 1-6) if they chose. Contestants will be charged a $.99 processing fee for each submission.

Visitors of the site will vote on which submissions they like the best in each category (make sure to tell your friends to go to gillansinn.com and vote for you!) Every week, 1 submission from each category will move on to the finals (a contestant can only be in the finals once in each category). The contest will last for 6 weeks so at its conclusion there will be 6 finalists in each category. Ian Gillan, Michael Lee Jackson (Guitar player on “Gillan's Inn” and on the “Gillan's Inn Tour”) and John Trickett (Chairman & CEO of immergent) will comment on all of the final submissions and then choose an overall winner from each category (winners will be responsible for taxes). Winners names will be posted on www.gillansinn.com and will be contacted via email.

The winners will be chosen on 09/04/2006.
